土や漆喰、藍やベンガラなど自然の素材を使い、左官で抽象画を制作しています。代表する藍漆喰の作品は、漆喰に藍を発色させたい思い一心で試作をし、左官と染色を融合した手法で、独自の表現として形になりました。

左官の仕事とは異なり、無心でその瞬間に湧き出るものを手任せに描いています。足元にあるものから広げて行きたい思いから、漆喰は主に岐阜県大垣産の石灰を使用し、古くから使われてきた藍やベンガラを生かし制作しています。そのため、自然特有の経年変化も感じることが多い作品です。

かつての私たちの暮らしは、身近な地域で採れた材料で成り立っていました。そこには地域性があり、町と暮らしは身近なものでしたが、その文化は失われつつあります。新しい文化が生まれる時代の狭間で、伝統息づく漆喰が現代に馴染む新しいカタチになればと、その思いで活動しています。

Living traditional plaster is reimagined into new forms that integrate naturally into contemporary life.Using natural materials such as earth, plaster, indigo, and bengala, I create abstract paintings through traditional plastering techniques.My signature indigo-plaster works were developed through persistent experimentation driven by a strong desire to make indigo appear within plaster itself. This process led to the fusion of plastering and dyeing techniques, forming a unique mode of expression.

Unlike architectural plaster work, my artistic process is guided by a state of emptiness and trust in what emerges in the moment, allowing my hands to respond intuitively.With a desire to expand from what exists beneath my feet, I primarily use lime produced in Gifu Prefecture Ogaki. I also incorporate traditional materials such as indigo and bengala, embracing the natural aging and transformation that occur over time as part of the work itself.

In the past, daily life was sustained by materials sourced from local regions. Each place had its own character, and towns and daily living were closely connected. Today, much of this culture is gradually being lost.In this transitional time, as new cultures emerge, I continue my practice with the hope that living traditional plaster can evolve into new forms that naturally belong in the contemporary world.
