静謐と躍動

伝統左官で用いられてきた漆喰と藍・色土などの自然素材を使い、自然がもたらす偶然の美しさと自分の内面から湧き出るエネルギーと対話をしながら、導かれるように鏝（コテ）を動かし、生み出される抽象画『koteto』。
漆喰や藍は言わずもがな、人間もまた自然界の一部です。自然を相手にすることは、不安定さや不確実性を作品に内包すること。人工物にはない、特有の難しさがある一方で、それが作品の豊かさにつながっていきます。
この作品は時間と共に変化し、永遠に完成することはありません。作品の前に立つと、人もまた留まることのない時間の流れの中にあることを自覚し、いかに存在すべきかと自問せずにはいられません。
静謐と緊張、躍動と生命感。漆喰の白に藍色が浸み込んでゆく風景は、山にも見えるし、大海原にも見える。水面を想像する人もいれば、深海に誘われる人もいるかもしれません。作品を観ているあなたの「いま」と呼応することで、その表情は無限に変化していくのです。

The abstract painting “koteto” is created by using natural materials such as plaster, indigo, and colored clay that have been used in traditional plastering. It is produced by moving the trowel as if guided by the conversation with chance beauty of nature and the energy that flows from within me.
Needless to say that plaster and indigo are a part of the natural world, and so as humans are. Dealing with nature means incorporating instability and uncertainty into my work. While there are unique difficulties that are not found in artificial objects, this leads to the richness of the work.
This work changes over time and will never be completed. When you stand in front of this work, you become aware that you, too, are in the never-ending flow of time, and you cannot help but ask yourself how you should exist.
Serenity and tension, dynamism and a sense of life. When the indigo color permeates the white plaster, looks like a mountain or the ocean. Some people may imagine the surface of the water, while others may be drawn to the deep sea. Its expression changes infinitely as it responds to your “now” moment when you are viewing the work.
